Ranger Station - Mike Verchio
Over the last 2 years, HOH Economic Development Corp has worked with the City Council and the US Forest Service in obtaining the Mystic Ranger Sation. In the fall of 2008, the building was finally remodeled to house the new Hill City Visitors Center, a gate way into the Black Hills for many vacationers.
N2Tech - Ray Berberich
Sharing a vision of creating entrepreneurial growth, representatives from the N2TEC Institute met to discuss and develop a starting point for economic growth dealing with technology entrepreneurship. The N2TEC Institute is partnered with 20 universities and industries nationwide. What that means for the growing entrepreneurial community is a partner in developing business plans and acquiring financing that will ultimately help new and existing technology-based businesses in and around Hill City. In order to evaluate what programs would be most effective for the community and region, the focus was on gathering information to make an assessment of needs on developing an entrepreneurial program. Assessment continued with the help of various community leaders in various sectors, including business and education, focusing on needs, goals, strengths, and weaknesses.
